Destiny Explained

On Tuesday (18th Oct) the fifth Destiny event will be held at the Elim Centre (from 7.30-9.30).  This event is the only forum of its kind that gathers students and non-students alike from churches accross the town simply to pray and seek God for the sake of the students of our town.  The event has been growing and evolving as the Student Strategy has grown over the last 18 months.  This is an attempt to put the event into context and to give some of the rationale behind Destiny:

Destiny Event – God’s passion for student

What?

A Loughborough wide gathering to pray and worship and place ourselves in God’s hands to fulfil his plans and our destiny. It is open to anyone with a heart for reaching students.

Why?

Because Loughborough needs a move of God.

Because together we are more than the sum of our parts.

Because God wants to impart vision, courage, boldness and passion so we can make a difference.

Because we need the prayers, ministry and encouragement of one another.

Because God is looking for those who will take responsibility for the 14,000 students and be prepared to pray and act.

Because through prayer and worship we find ourselves in a place of intimacy where he can share his heart for our friends and this student population.

Who?

Destiny creates a forum for anyone with a passion to see God move among students can come together, stand together, worship together, pray together and agree together that this is something we must do.

It is for students in Hall cells, Town Cells, the CU, Student workers and church members who want to make a difference in this town.

When?

Four times a year in term time.
