Introducing the new hosting team

A little while ago I attending a social event where most people were strangers. It was a weekend away and I turned up to a venue I didn't know, to a roomful of people who were new and felt like I was with friends I just hadn't met yet. The atmosphere, the welcome and the warmth of everyone I met was unusual and put me at ease right away. Here was a bunch of people who would be my friends its just they hadn't had the opportunity to get to know me before.

It left me thinking; could that same atmosphere, welcome and warmth be at Open Heaven gatherings? Yes of course it could! And I am planning on making it so. With a little help from some friends!

So the new OH Hosting team is born. Its a mix of welcome and hospitality as we have known it in a smart new package of team-t-shirts and paper cups (all of which we will recycle of course!). At OH1 there will be big thermos flasks of tea and coffee at the doors and an info point and at OH2 a fruit bar. And at every gathering there will be a sharp team of hosts helping to make you feel like you are in a room full of friends you haven't met yet.

There is no reason why Open Heaven gatherings can't be simply the most warm and friendly places you could go. After all, we are the church of Jesus Christ and he calls himself our friend.
