Family Friendly?

The countdown to the launch of OH2, our family-friendly expression of Open Heaven, has begun. We are commissioning the team on April 22nd and our very first OH2 gathering will be held on April 29th.

There's a lot of anticipation in the team as we're currently planning some of the details of what things are actually going to be like. We're starting with a rhythm of fortnightly gatherings and with socials on alternate weeks. Our OH2 gatherings will be held at 64 Beacon Road, 10.30am-11.30am and our socials will revolve around food!

We've decided to experiment a bit with the structure of our gatherings. Some weeks we'll separate into adults and children for worship and then come back together to hear some teaching. Other weeks we're going to split up for the teaching but do all age worship as one - complete with percussion instruments and creative materials. We'll see how it all goes and have fun trying!

The children will be fully participating members of OH2 with Sol Clark on the welcome team, some of the younger children in the band (on percussion!) and Amelie, Jo and Connor taking lead roles in acting out Bible stories. As we all want to pray together sometimes, we'll have 'visual prayers' - a mixture of words and pictures, so the children can follow along and shout out when they see the pictures.

Please pray for OH2 over the coming weeks. In particular that we would have loads of friends who will be really interested in coming along and that many families will be impacted by God's love. This year, at least 6 babies are going to be born in our community, which probably means about another 60 people will become good friends with someone from Open Heaven. Some of those 60 will be on a spiritual journey searching for answers to life's big questions. OH2 might just what they're looking for - a loving community who can really help them find the relationship with God for which they long. That's our prayer, it would be great if those staying in OH1 could pray it for us as well.
