New Theme: Daniel
This coming term we are exploring the book of Daniel in the Old Testament.
We believe that great teaching comes from great themes and great themes come from the Bible. We aim to study at least two books of the Bible a year and try to get a good mix of Old and New Testament writings. So, this term we’re in for a treat as we dig into the treasure trove that is Daniel.
In this fascinating book we see a man who lived as a courageous follower of God in a strange culture at odds with his values. A culture not too dissimilar to our post-Christian, post-modern society. And yet Daniel did not shun the culture, but engaged with the good and rose to great influence within it. Daniel knew great times of favour and answered prayer, but also contested with great suffering and huge knocks in life. He unswervingly trusted God throughout and provides us with inspiration as we see the depths of his prayer life, the breadth of his faith and the heights of his insights into eternity. The book of Daniel also gives us glimpses into God’s strategic plan to touch every nation on earth with his love. Get ahead and start reading Daniel today!
You can hear Ness' introductory talk on Daniel from the first OH1 meeting of term in our podcast.
