Overflow: Make a Noise
Have you ever felt strongly about an issue but not got around to doing anything about it? Do you feel that you'd like to know more on something but don't have time to do any research of your own? Have you heard something unjust that made you angry, and then forgotten all about it?
Life is busy and sometimes it can be difficult to find time to write a letter or express your view. Making a noise about things that seem unfair could just make a difference in the corridors of power.
'OverFlow: Make a Noise' gives you the opportunity to set aside a couple of hours on Monday night (10th March) to petition those in power. It's going to be a relaxed and cafe-style environment, with informational presentations from fellow OHers about issues close to their hearts. There will be opportunites to learn more about these issues including: Sex Trafficking in the UK, Climate Change, AIDS, Arms Trade and Trade Justice. There will also be a number of ways to respond, including video clips, creative, prayer, petitions and letter writing.
The presentations will be at the start of the evening (7:30pm), with then the rest of the evening with stations set up to respond to those that really captured a bit of your heart. The event is going to be held at Energize (downstairs in the Schofield Centre opposite Frederick St & Sainsburys).
Come along for 20 minutes or 2 hours...
...Make a noise for those who can’t, by petitioning those who can.
