The Language of Faith
Matt Kay and Alexander Stevenson will be exhibiting their work in Loughborough Parish church over the next two weeks, with a special opening night this evening.
The Language Of Faith brings together the work of Alexander Stevenson and Matthew James Kay for the first time to create an exciting new exhibition. Located in the 14th century parish church of All Saints with Holy Trinity, Loughborough, the artists' vinyl prints and sculptures create an environment in which old meets new to open up new possibilities in dialogue on the nature of belief...

Out of discussion with members of the community around All Saints Church, Alexander Stevenson has developed a collection of provocative tattoo designs. The resulting emblems and declarations of personal faith, composed of contemporary and traditional iconography are enlarged and placed around the building to surprising affect.
Matthew James Kay offers new and old works from his growing family of quirky assemblage sculptures. The works selected for this show explore the nature of faith outworked in community as the sculptures stand together through the struggles, joys, doubts and hopes of a life of faith.
The exhibition will run from the 10th to the 24th June 2008 in All Saints Parish Church, Loughborough. The preview (Tuesday 10th June) is from 6 - 8 pm with additional viewings available on Fridays and Saturdays 10am – 12pm as well as during regular services.
You can see more of Matt's work on his website and myspace pages.
