BACA is Now Officially a Charity
The BACA Project has just received our Charity Number (1126549) from the Charity Commission.
BACA has been running for over a year caring and supporting young forced migrants that come into our town by giving them quality accommodation with life skills provision. We have seen 10 young lads come through our doors since last September. We are also setting up a new 'move-on' house in July and another BACA Life Skills house is set to open this September...
Our contract with Social Care Services remains strong and we are looking forward to making our services count for excellence in terms of caring for new arrivals. We have faced many challenges along the way but also many joys. BACA would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the BACA houses; your support is greatly appreciated.
BACA has also secured £10,000 from Awards for All to roll out a schools programme called Passage to educational institutions across Leicestershire. Our plans have been met with great support from QCA (Qualifications and Curriculum Authority) and we are looking forward to what the team headed up by Jo Tomblin and Phil Lyon deliver come this September.
Our charity status opens new funding opportunities to us and gives us a chance to collect gift aid on donations. This will go a long way to help us pioneer and branch out into new ideas and projects to keep BACA being the vibrant and dynamic organisation it set out to be. We are not settling, there is always more and dreaming does not stop here; in fact it has only just begun!
We still need your help!
We need your prayer.
BACA works with very marginalized and hurting people that have been through traumas we could not even imagine. We need wisdom, grace and courage to keep fighting for these boys and to keep opening new ways to help them deal with the past and look forward to the future.
These boys are not only our futures but the futures of countries like Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Ethiopia, Eritrea and Sudan. The reality is that they might have to go back to these countries one day. We want to make sure they go back not only equipped to lead good lives but also to make a impact in their communities and their countries. High orders, but not impossible!
So if you would like to receive regular prayer updates on the organisation please contact us.
Or, if your cell would like to receive regular prayer updates then please also contact us.
We need your financial support.
Our constant challenge is finding the funding for the things we want to achieve. If everyone gave just £10 a month and had it gift-aided, we would be able to do so much more and relieve some of the pressure on the current staff to allow creative and innovative work to happen. Please think and pray about whether this is something you could commit to, it would make a huge difference!
If you'd be interested in supporting BACA, please email us for our bank details and a gift aid form. We will do the rest.
Lastly, a big thank you to all of you! BACA would not have happened without the support of people at Open Heaven.
