This term we are looking at the Ten Commandments - barely 300 words long in English, yet they form the basis of our legal system, the foundations of our parliament and lie at the core of western civilisation.

Welcome to Loughborough

If you're a fresher (or even someone who's just thinking of coming along to Open Heaven for the first time) we'd like to give you a warm welcome. Students have been at the heart of Open Heaven since it began 15 years ago and we are so excited to meet you all and invest into you for the next 3 years. Student life is great and will be the most amazingly fun, busy, crazy three years that is likely to shape you for years to come.

Open Heaven is a thriving and growing community, where you can encounter God and develop many good friendships. We are an active, passionate and contemporary church with a specific call to make disciples in  21st century culture. Whether you are already a Christian, or are a searcher looking for answers to some of life’s questions, we hope you can find a spiritual home here at Open Heaven Church.

Our student-focussed Sunday gathering OH1 meets in the Students Union at 3:45pm. For the first few weeks of term we'll be in Cognito before moving to Room1 as the weeks progress. We tend to go for a mix of  heartfelt, creative worship and life-filled, relevant talks from the Bible. We also have another gathering for families and those who haven't been students for a while (OH2).

We'd also like to invite you to join one of our cell groups and enjoy the support and friendship of a smaller group of people, where you can be known, cared for, challenged and developed. There's also a huge range of other activities, training events, and socials to get involved with so get stuck in as well as our Alpha course.

To find out more about us, please take a few minutes to browse these pages. If you're a student then our student pages are a great place to start. You can read also more about our vision to make 21st century disciples and how we are going about fulfilling it.

So, all in all, we're looking forward to meeting you. We have a regular ‘welcome meal’ at my house for all newcomers to Open Heaven where we can eat together, chat and answer any questions you might have about us. In the meantime, you’re welcome to contact me and / or our student team leaders Lizzie and James for any more information. Hopefully we'll see you soon.
