We've Got the Keys to St. Peter's
It's been a long time coming but, after years of prayer and dreaming dreams we picked up the key to St. Peter's church on Friday. For now the church has been bought by the national Elim body pending redevelopment, but nevertheless it's an exciting stage to be at. The dreams of using the building to have an impact on the community of Loughborough - students and residents, young and old, rich and poor - just got a little closer, and a church that was built for the glory of God took another step towards fulfilling its reason to be.
From a practical point of view, the site is still being surveyed, so for now, we're asking that people don't go on site until we've had the chance to assess any risks properly. We'll be sending out regular building updates from here on in, including a document at the start of September charting the progress of the project since January and looking ahead to the next phase. Then at the joint gathering on the 13th September we'll be talking about what all this means and launch the next stage in the consultation process. Obviously this is going to be fairly significant for us as church over the next few weeks, months and years, so if there's any way you can make it to this gathering, then please do.
Hopefully see you there.
Matt
