St. Peter's Update
I’m writing to update you on where things are at with the St Peters project is at - an amazing opportunity for Open Heaven to step up, think big and see greater impact and transformation in the community of Loughborough and beyond.
I’m aware there hasn’t been much communication for a while, mainly because things have been going pretty slowly. There’s been a few things going on in the background including the odd bat survey, and an assessment by the Victorian society, but the main thing we’ve been waiting for is planning permission. This has taken a lot longer than we thought, but we’re thankful that planning permission has finally been granted and so things can start to take a lot more shape.
So what’s happening now?
Now that planning permission has been approved, Elim have been able to purchase the building and will hopefully be able to get the keys in the next couple of weeks. We plan to have a thanksgiving prayer meeting on the day that we actually get the keys. We’ll send an e-mail round to let everyone know.
The next stage is finalising the design and getting quotes for the work. We’ll let you know more about the details of that as and when we know.
The opportunity
We’ve been committed to partner with Elim and pursue this amazing opportunity God has placed before us and we’re now at the stage where we’re praying and asking God how much we feel able to contribute. We feel it's important that we do all we can to partner and share the adventure of faith, risk and levels of sacrifice that our brothers and sisters in Elim are doing. We are in a uniquely privileged position of working with genuinely Kingdom minded, big hearted leaders who, for some reason, want the best for Open Heaven.
We’ll be sending more updates via e-mail and the web site as things progress. In September we’ll be looking to outline more of what this next stage means and why we feel this is what God is calling us to pursue. We’ll also be holding several discussion evenings where we can talk more and explore any thoughts or questions you might have.
In the meantime, if you have any questions, please do ask someone on the leadership team, the trustees or just contact me.
