[29-10-09] Reflecting on a week of 24-7 prayer
It seems a bit premature to start reflecting on all that happened during the 24-7 week, sensing that the prayers prayed, hearts changed, people softened and breakthroughs encountered in that place, are not over.

Sloshout

Sloshout is basically a spirit lead prayer and worship event put on by the Open Heaven Society.  It’s a chance for people to come along and encounter Jesus on a personal level. It’s a safe space for people to meet with God, worship him, hear what he has to say, soak, dance, shout, sing in his presence, basically whatever he's got planned.

It's a different, intimate, breaking into supernatural relationship, expectant to meet with God, time to “stop and listen” kind of thing. I think you get the idea.

We come expectant before God; anticipating the release of spiritual gifts, healing, angels- you name it we're up for it and praying in to it!

There’s no set format for Sloshout so no two events are the same, what is suitable for one evening, e.g. washing of feet, may not be for the next time- it's all down to what we think God is saying. The first event was held at the end of last term and focussed a lot on entering into holy ground and gave people the chance to worship with abandon, receive healing and prophesy over Loughborough, campus, Church, the society and each other.

For the second Sloshout, we invited a team from Catch the Fire Ministries to come and lead it. It was an epic evening with prophecy flowing hard and fast, fire tunnels commissioning Club Mission and worship elevating through the roof into the heavens!

We’re planning another Sloshout before the end of term, so if you're up for getting intimate with God, come along and spend some time hanging out in His presence!

The team from Catch the Fire Ministries sent us this after their visit:

"God's vision for your group is huge, I feel that God is increasing your influence in Loughborough and expanding the area of impact that you have. I also just feel like He is calling you to partner with Him and display to Loughborough a people who know their God and walk with Him. He is giving you all - His eyes to see through, that you will see with eyes of faith and expectancy and no hill will be a hindrance to you as you walk with a God who has no limits. Let your vision expand and as a group begin to ask Him for the things that perhaps you would have only dreamed of before.

I see you cutting a new path, it's like you are going through the jungle with a machete. But instead of getting tired as you go, every step gives you more energy and new life. Every step gives you more determination and focus. People are going to be drawn to that focus and will follow suit. They will realize that they are becoming more and more alive as they walk with you.

You are all singing together and laughing together. I see you arrive at a waterfall with a nice big pool of water. Some of you climb up to a ledge to dive into the water, a few dive in and some of you encourage the rest to come up before diving themselves. No one is left out and because there is such a fun, loving atmosphere everyone takes the dive. Through this picture I hear God saying that you are pioneering new things in Loughborough. That you just pursuing the heart of God is bringing more life to everyone around you. That as you run after Him people won't be able to help but follow to see where you are going. And when you finally reveal to them that you are taking them to a God that loves them, and as you encourage them, they will take the jump into new life. More and more salvations are coming as you continue to worship and fellowship. Embrace the depth of who He is. God is blessing the friendships in this group as well. He is showing you what church, what family is. For people who have felt so rejected and misunderstood by their own families, will find who they are because they have found such a safe place in you to just be. You carry hope for the hopeless. You carry a place where dreams are conceived and born."
