Think Big Update - Jan 2010
We’re getting closer and closer to seeing St. Peter’s come back to life and once again be a place of hope, life, healing, fun and love in the community.
Where we’re at...
We are currently finalising the design drawings which will be completed by mid-February. We’ll then be going out to tender and should hear back from contractors with prices by April. Please join us in praying that the tender prices will come back a lot lower than expected, this will really help us maximise the potential the building has to be a great resource for both Elim and Open Heaven. Work can start once a contractor has been agreed which could be around May time.
Gemma’s role
Many of you will know that Gemma Potts who has been the project manager has now moved to New York. Gemma has been such a gift from God and we’re so grateful for all her work. She will continue to project manage the project up to the tender stage, only weeks away, which was always the agreement. After this someone else will be appointed to be the on-site project manager. So the timing of Gemma going to New York has worked out well.
Finance update
Our gift day back in November saw an amazing £142,000 raised for the project. This was such a generous response by the church. (We will be giving 10% of this away to other projects both locally and internationally which is exciting). That means that our overall contribution is around £460,000 over three years. Our goal is to contribute around £700,000 so please continue to pray for God’s amazing provision. Once the tender prices come back we’ll have a much more accurate idea of cost for the whole project. There is still a possibility that we could take out a loan over 15 years if that was needed.
Church sharing agreement
The trustees have been working hard to shape the church sharing agreement which is the legal document outlining how the building will be used by both churches. This will be completed in the next few months and a buildings committee (four members of each congregation) will then be set up to ensure smooth running of the building.

You're going to need lots of elbow room for your growing family.
Don't be afraid—you're not going to be embarrassed.
Don't hold back—you're not going to come up short.
