Pray for Japan

Whilst the news headlines have turned to other worrying events in North Africa, the tragedy and chaos continues to sweep through Japan.

It is hard to sum up the magnitude of the disaster that struck Japan on 11th March.  But we must find eyes to see God, ears to hear Him, and voices to call out to Him.

Please join us as we continue to pray for the country of Japan, the leadership of the country as they face both a long and painful reconstruction and the on-going situation at the Fukushima nuclear power plant; for families who have lost relatives or have yet to find them; for communities and businesses torn apart.

As a church we have made a £400 donation towards assisting in the relief effort and we will continue to pray at gatherings, asking for the peace of God to transcend these situations where fear and grief so easily grip the lives of those involved.

I should add that we gave the £400 to Samaritan's Purse. Paul McKnight has been working with them in Thailand for coming up to 2 years now, and as those of you on the Prayer Network (openheaven.org/prayer) will know he was almost part of their team heading out to Japan to help.
