Club Mission FND
On Friday 20th May we had our first ever Club Mission FND. This evening was the culmination of years of diligent service of many generations of Open Heavener’s.
So for anyone who doesn’t know, Club Mission FND is a night hosted by the Students Union completely branded after the efforts of Club Mission and Open Heaven. It’s a night where Open Heaven is out in force living up to their name, opening heaven and loving students on a big scale in the name of Jesus. There was a ton of stuff going on throughout the night to bless and serve the students; acoustic sets whilst people queued to get in, free tea’s & coffee’s, free flip flops to alleviate girls of the dreaded high heels on the way home, the usual chill out room in full swing, a permanently manned prayer room throughout the night, videos about OH playing throughout the Union, a prayer and healing tent outside and even a Flashmob in Room1! It was awesome stuff!
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who got involved and helped make the night possible. We’ve heard a number of great stories trickling in so far of how God has been moving and touching people’s hearts through conversations, prayer and acts of kindness. Keep them coming in!
These great stories are happening every week! Club Mission runs every Friday night with the chill out room, worshipping on the dance floor, prayer walking, chatting to students and walking people home who are a bit lost! So if you loved Club Mission FND and can’t wait for the next one then get in touch with Ben or Michelle and get yourself along on any Friday to Club Mission!
We’re already trawling through the diary to see when we can do the next Club Mission FND and we’d love to hear people’s feedback on the night and any ideas for the next one; don’t be afraid to dream big! Send your idea’s through to Tom Dean
It seems crazy to think that when we were fresher’s Club Mission didn’t even exist. Now it’s an integral part of the Union every Friday night. It excites us to think where God will take things in the next few years!
