Cell Discipleship
Every member growing
We are called to follow the example of Christ (Eph.5: 1-2) and to do that we need his values and conviction on the inside. The pathway of discipleship means we take this invitation seriously and the greatest commandment of all: to love God with everything we are. This monthly cell meeting provides a time for sharing our journey with others and is designed to kick start new pathways of discipleship and keep us hot, humble and hungry for more of God. Through listening to the journey of others we can take encouragement and inspiration for ours. Be as open, honest and as vulnerable as you can- we're not looking for heroes, just lots of authentic travelling companions.
PART ONE - Monthly Health Check
Each cell member is encouraged to answer these 2 questions. Try and be as specific as possible as it is your spiritual growth at stake. This can be done in 2's and 3's and from time to time as a group.
- What are the ways you are taking responsibility for growing more like Christ?
- What are the main obstacles to you serving Christ each day?
PART TWO - Life long discipleship areas
Choose one area each month to discuss as a cell. It is ongoing attention to these areas that marks out our life in the Kingdom of God.
Fruit Which fruit of the Spirit does God want you to work on cultivating this year? How are you doing that or looking to do that?
Gifts Which gifts (spiritual and natural) has God given you and how are you using them to serve Christ?
Mission How are you investing in and serving those outside the church community? Who are you praying for and representing Christ to?
Church How are you investing in and serving the church community?
Money How are you ensuring that God comes before money?
PART THREE - Prayer ministry
Split into groups of 2 or 3, ask for a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit and listen to God for each other and ourselves. What is it that God wants to highlight to us today and for the next season?
PART FOUR - Choosing a pathway
Take a look at the resources that will aid your spiritual growth. Identify some pathways on www.openheaven.org/discipleship and speak to someone who can help.
