Expressions

Open Heaven has always been deeply committed to being a church that is relevant to today's culture. We started in 1993 with creating an expression of church that was relevant for students, which over time has broadened out to 18s - 30s. This expression is called OH1.

Another life stage has now been reached by increasing numbers of us - that of being parents - and so we have started another expression of Open Heaven which is focused on being relevant to children and families. This expression is called OH2.

We anticipate more expressions of Open Heaven starting over the coming years, helping us to be a church that is relevant and accessible to other people groups and cultures. We remain one big church family with the same vision and values, but expressed in different ways across our community. All of these Open Heaven expressions exist for the sake of those who have not yet encountered God's love. Guests are our priority when we gather in these expressions and we endeavour to think long and hard about how to make someone's first experience of church a relaxed, welcoming and perhaps intriguing one.
