OH1

Who is it for?

OH1 is for students and 20 & 30 somethings. Together we are endeavouring to work out what it looks like to follow Christ in this complex world, with a particular relevance for students and those in the workplace.

What’s it like?

This expression of Open Heaven gathers on a Sunday in Room 1 of the Students Union during term time and in a cafe style venue the rest of the year.
Room 1 is an open venue with no doors to shut - a space that we fill out with tunes to lift the spirit, creativity to stimulate the senses and a community of people to hang out with and belong to. We don't try to be religious or nice. Occasionally we may appear like a group of over enthusiastic football supporters willing our team to win. But this is just the surface. If you hang around, you’ll discover a deep concern for this world and its inhabitants. There is much honest questioning, authentic lifestyles, committed friendships and marriages, some doubts and some fears, desire to make a difference, brave and courageous people, on a journey, together. We have discovered something in the person of Jesus that has blown our minds and we want more. Together we try to express something of the love of God to each other and to those who struggle to believe that God loves them.

Want to get involved?

Well, you are welcome to join us on this journey of discovering what it means to follow Christ in 21st Century culture. You see, we haven’t got it all figured out yet. That’s why we meet together to learn and be inspired from the One who has. Come along, anytime, and you’ll be welcomed.

Much of life’s personal challenges, opportunities and pressures are shared and outworked together midweek, in smaller groups called cells.
