The role of a Cell Leader
Purpose
To facilitate and nurture a healthy and fruitful cell based around the Cell Values:
- Jesus at the centre
- Every member in ministry
- Ongoing discipleship
- Community
- Mission & multiplication
Recognising that a healthy church has both the smaller meetings during the week (cell) and the whole body gathered together (celebration).
Accountability
The Cell Leader is accountable to their Associate in the areas of:
- The role of Cell Leader (this document)
- Personal discipleship & growth
Responsibilities
(Answering the question, ‘what is expected of me?’)
- Pray for those in your cell
- Take responsibility for the direction & development of the group as a whole
- Plan, organise and effectively communicate the cell activities for the term
- Explain and model the Cell Values personally and encourage cell members to do so
- Identify, draw out and develop the gifts & skills of cell members
- Give encouraging and honest feedback to those who have contributed to the cell
- Take responsibility for making new members welcome in cell
- Encourage & help each member to be discipled and disciple others
- Ensure cell members have up-to-date contact details for each other
- Inform Lizzie (Community Administrator) of any changes of who’s in your cell and also of any changes of contact details
- Inform the cell of any Open Heaven notices
- Identify the next potential cell leader and spend time intentionally developing them as an assistant cell leader giving feedback along the way
