We are called to worship God. “Of all the commandments”, Jesus said “this is the most important, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength”( Mk 12v 29). Out of a life of worship must come acts of worship. 

Open Heaven desires to be a community who are first and foremost worshippers. We choose to gather regularly to worship God regardless of feelings or circumstance. Worship is not a denial of these difficult circumstances, rather an opportunity to be healed from them. We desire to cultivate thankful hearts and attitudes, which lift us from our self pity and selfishness and enable us to gaze on Gods beauty. The reason for our thankfulness is that God is Good. Our thanks will increase as we focus on him and the good things he has made and has for us to do.

We worship God

• Freely – allowing God’s love to continually transform us so that we become more Christ like.
• Intimately – drawing near God and experiencing his love.
• Sacrificially – giving our whole lives back to God because of what he has done for us.
• Generously – bringing our tithes and our offerings.
• Creatively – engaging all the senses through music, art, and multimedia.

We have a number of worship bands who all have different styles and approaches. The heart to worship God remains the same. We believe this variation and diversity is important and reflects our creative God. We also encourage our musical and creative gifts to be taken and used outside the church
