Safehaven Café is a 5-week well-being café for parents with pre-school aged children who need help with their mental health and general well-being.
We run 5-week courses with hot, healthy food for parents with pre-school aged children who need help particularly with depression, anxiety, self-esteem and isolation. Our large volunteer team allow us to put on supervised children's activities and support parents and carers in the group. We hope families will get to know others, be heard and understood, and pick up practical skills through our workshops.
We have an encouraging track record of seeing families' mental health and well-being significantly improve through our courses, and take seriously the opportunity to support families on social care plans. We have worked with more than 40 local families since we started in October 2016.
